Once you’ve picked a trip, it’s very easy to book online. Or, if you prefer, you can sign up over the phone with one of our Travel Consultants at 800.766.2645.

Insurance

We strongly recommend all travelers purchase our comprehensive All-Inclusive Insurance plan, which is specifically designed for EF travelers. The plan covers you before and during your trip, and includes medical and accident insurance, baggage and property insurance, tour cancellation and interruption insurance, and 24-hour emergency assistance. If you want to make changes to your insurance status, you must do so by 60 days prior to your trip.

Go Ahead, Stay Behind

If you want to travel on your own before or after your EF College Break trip, that’s no problem at all. For a fee of $150 we can book your flight on a different date, and even from a different airport. You can request this option until 90 days prior to departure—do it when you enroll online, or make the request later in your online account. (Note: If you enroll on a trip after that 90-days deadline, you must request the stay-ahead/stay-behind at the time of enrollment.)

Add-ons
(optional excursions)

Make your trip even better by signing up for the add-ons. Almost every EF College Break trip has at least one of these optional activities for extra cost (Versailles and Mt. Pilatus are examples of popular ones). It’s best to sign up for these optional add-ons in advance, and this must be done by 30 days prior to your trip. You can also sign up and pay for add-ons during the trip, but it usually costs more.

Payment Schedule

A non-refundable deposit of $150 is due at the time of booking. After that, our monthly payment plan divides your remaining balance into equal payments that are automatically deducted from your checking account or charged to your credit/debit card. It’s easy and convenient, and breaking the total cost into smaller pieces makes it all more affordable. The final payment is charged around 35 days prior to your trip.

Meet the other travelers

Now the fun starts. Most of our travelers’ favorite part of their EF College Break trip is the people. Before your trip, you can talk to college student travelers from all over the country on our Facebook fan page.

Once you’re booked on one of our trips and we get closer to the date, we’ll create a Facebook group specifically for your trip, so you can get to know the people you’ll be traveling with.

There are certain things you’ll need to take care of before your trip. To make sure you’re ready to go once your departure date arrives, follow this travel checklist:

Right away

Get a passport!
It can take a while to process, so apply for your passport immediately if you don’t already have one. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the final date of your trip.

99 days prior to departure

Booking deadline
Any booking after this is considered a “late addition,” which are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis and incur a $125 late application charge.

90 days prior to departure

60 days prior to departure

Final day to purchase All-Inclusive Insurance plan
